A Unique Community

Manalapan’s geographical configuration consists of two separate areas that are contiguous only by water. The portion along Highway A1A, between the Lantana Public Beach and the South Lake Worth Inlet (otherwise known as Boynton Inlet) is the best-known area of Manalapan thanks to the traffic along the main north-south highway. The more secluded area of Manalapan occupies about the southern third of the island, and Manalapan shares Hypoluxo Island with the Town of Lantana.

Only a sparse number of Manalapan homes and Manalapan condos are rentals. The residential community of the town includes only 4 percent land area that is designated as club and/or commercial.

The town of Manalapan is operated by a Commission-Manager form of government, and the town provides water to the residents of Manalapan and Hypoluxo from the municipal water plant located on U.S. Highway 1 in Hypoluxo. The town also offers full police and fire services for residents.

In order to maintain its pristine environment and adhere to the quality of life the residents of Manalapan demand, the town continues to resist pressure from large-scale developers. The Manalapan Town Commission is dedicated to continuing the vision of its founders who conceived Manalapan as a low-density residential community full of unsurpassed beauty to complement its natural environment. It is for this reason that Manalapan homes and Manalapan condos are highly valuable and truly one-of-a-kind.

A Fantastic Library

The Town of Manalapan Library was established in November of 1970. Funding for the building and maintenance of the library were provided by the town and through private donations. In 1981, construction of a combination municipal structure was completed alongside the Library, which was wrapped around the face of a four hundred thousand gallon water storage tank to form a national award winning facility. The Library has since been renamed the J. Turner Moore Memorial Library, after former Mayor Moore, in honor of his unwavering support for the unique structure.

Today the J. Turner Moore Memorial Library is an organization that continues to be supported and funded by the community. The goal of the library is to meet the informational and recreational reading needs of residents of all ages.
